3D model of an American fighter aircraft designed by North American Aviation during World War II. It was primarily used by the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) and also served in the air forces of several other Allied nations. The P-51 Mustang made its maiden flight on October 26, 1940. Known for its range, speed, and agility, the Mustang became one of the most successful and iconic fighters of the war. It was particularly effective as an escort for long-range bomber missions due to its exceptional range. The P-51 Mustang is also known as the "Cadillac of the skies".
