Battle at Mulsanne

For this year's Car Render Challenge I decided to pay homage to one of my favourite movies, Le Mans (1971). The shot is based at the Mulsanne corner on the legendary Le Mans 24h race track where the No 8 Ferrari 512 driven by Erich Stalher is being hunted down by the No 20 Porsche 917 of Michael Delaney.

After hard braking down from an eye watering 220mph we find ourselves at the Mulsanne corner with the two lead race cars locked together. The slight onset of rain, damp track conditions and quickly fading light add to the tension whilst the tilted composition evokes an uneasy feeling as these two drivers do battle!
