Franciscaines – Da Lat city

Our team is from Lam Dong province, Vietnam. Our place is located in the Central Highland region of Vietnam and is well-known a beautiful highland with many old architectural structures that were built during the 19th and 20th century.

In this competition, we decided to create a very iconic place in our province - The Franciscaines Missionnaires de Marie – an abandoned monastery in the Central Highlands city of Da Lat, which is the capital of Lam Dong Province.

The complex was first built in the late 30s and early 40s of the last century by French architects, during many transformations over decades, the complex now is managed by The Ho Chi Minh City University of Architecture and has been planned to restore the site. The renovation includes a new amphitheater being built in the complex and the restoration of dilapidated structures.

We want to stimulate the place with its old structures and materials as an occasion to save the original scenery before it is restored.
