The Highest High

This project has been a hectic few weeks of my life. I wanted to enter the contest this year but I hadn't really thought of a story or theme for a render.

Two weeks into the contest, I still didn't have a story in mind. All I had in mind was the car I wanted to use as my subject, and that's the Audi Q8 - an absolute automotive beast in terms of looks. I then started modeling while I thought about the story.

With only two weeks left in the contest, a faint idea popped into my mind. I wanted to portray something that would resonate with my exisential angst in a metaphoric kind of way. In regard to this line of thought, I then remembered a question I once heard smoewhere. "What would you keep you going if you had everything?"

So that then is my inspiration for this render. Besides depicting an interpretation of the highest high in the render, I also went for a bunch of people doing somehting outrageous and maybe even kind of stupid.

The Q8 has made it through the wilderness and persisted through all the dust and debris while keeping all its occupants clean as a whistle. When they get to the highest of highs, dirt is not among the first things on their minds. They are ecstatic and take photos to remember someday the good time they are having. When they come back down to earth after seeing it all, what could possibly be their next goal?
