When flying cars became the norm, racing land-bound vehicles slowly lost popularity.
To keep up with ever growing speeds and technology, drag racing turned into flying eventually too.
And since drag racing is about the maximum acceleration, Vertical Drag Racing Association (VDRA) allowed rocket engines and ramp-launched races straight up against the earths gravity.
History and future of drag racing converge in the mad vehicles they use.
Pictured here is a '33 Ford bodied VDRA racer blasting off to the skies on saturday-night qualifying run, driven by the brave Carlos "CC" Cojones.
