The Last Goldfish

Both cats on the picture are my house cats. I really like them, so I decided to create a picture where they are protagonists. The base-mesh was created in Maya and detailed and textured in Zbrush. Fur was made with Shave & a Haircut in Maya. It was the most extensive part of the work. It tooks me many weeks to handle fur creation and fur rendering. My initial idea was to render the picture with Mental Ray. Finally I used Arnold for Maya, because the renderer gives me the necessary flexibility and progressive real-time preview to handle fur creation. Post-production was made in Photoshop. I hope you enjoy the picture and love my cats, like I do :)
