Hello everyone, It’s high time to sum up the challenge.
It was a fantastic spring contest – a lot of amazing works, creative ideas and ways to develop a theme. We are sure that any of the submitted works is worthy to be the official image of a game.
We want to thank all the participants for their very interesting WIPs – it was a great pleasure for us to follow the creative process.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who supported participants.
Well, let’s go!
Made with using 3D-Coat, 3ds max, V-ray, Ornatrix and Photoshop. Excellent all around – beautiful composition, great use of DoF, lovely materials, environment and attention to detail.
Hey, My name’s Vladislav Dimant. I am engaged in 3d about 5 years. All this time I’ve been working at architectural studios. I always liked Characters, but had the opportunity to do it only recently, when I had enough experience for this.
This work I did in my free time from basic job about 2 months. I’ve always liked rollers Blizzard and I wanted to do something like that but in a static. En cause this was my first personal work, it encountered various problems. For example, rig, I had no idea at all before the start of the jumping. Or simulation of clothes in a pose because I have a dull old computer. I spent a lot of time on these things, in the following works I will already know how to optimize the process. In total, I learned a lot of new things, and the concres and clear time frames motivated me to finish my first similar work.
I am a beginner myself in this field, so, it is difficult to me to advice something. One thing I can say for sure … If there is a desire to learn something, then give it as much time as possible. The result will be 100%.
Made with using Zbrush, 3D-Coat, UVLayout, Substance Painter, 3DsMax, V-ray and Photoshop.
I am 27 years old. Living in Istanbul. I have been doing 3d modeling for about 10 years. I have been working as a 3d designer in a company for 2 years.
It took about a month. The biggest problem is TİME. Actually, I have not had much difficulty. On the contrary I worked with pleasure.
Have fun :)
Made with using 3ds max, Mudbox, Corona renderer, Marvelous Designer, Substance Painter and Photoshop.
I started my 3D adventure as a hobby in last classes of school and continued at the Academy of Design and Arts. There 3D knowledges helped me to present my educational projects of architecture and interiors. Professionally I work in this area 6 years in different architectural and design companies.
In general, this work took a month. In the first week of the competition, I was looking for screenshots from the game, different references and sketches. At this stage I planned which characters will participate in the composition, what details will be awarded and in what environment will the action take place.
Based on the material of the game, I wanted to work through the details of the characters and the environment to create the right atmosphere without losing the resemblance to the original.
This can be called a difficulties in the work but I was getting pleasure from the process of working on it.
I think one of the important thing is the idea what you want to show in the final.
Think about the image of your work and the details that you want to show.
This can help you to make the creation process more interesting and give the necessary motivation for learning new way of realization.
Enjoy what you do.
We congratulate the winners!
In addition, we’d like to point out the works of other finalists, which we can’t just ignore and slide round.

Congratulations to the winners, they really deserve the winning.
Very creative arts!
It is a joke. It looks like Hum3D decrease level of competition. Just look in the past chellanges and compare podium.

Competition was great!, but couldn’t join this time. Congratulations to the winners, and see you all in the car render competition! :)
I think 1st place is not as good as other renders. That render didn’t deserve for 1st prize. In my opinion other competitors did better job. But in fact I am not jury.
Whilst I am disappointed the Heart of Darkness entry did not win the entire contest, I am very happy it came in third at least. Absoloutely perfect and spot on. Looks amazing. The artist has my deepest praise.
Reading that he spent a considerable amount of time looking up reference images makes me wonder if it was difficult as there’s not a lot of HoD images out there. I wish I could have helped lol
