It's the late 70's and cars are the epitome of self expression. We meet in large groups in the LA water channels and check out each others rides. It's the perfect setting for these gas fed beasts, the glimmering paint jobs set against the harsh concrete which can be unforgiving if not respected. Walking from car to car inspecting every nook and cranny you can hear the rolling metal heaps rev up leaving hot, melted rubber in their wake. It's an open air event, but the smell of gas and rubber is thick.... I wait in anticipation for my turn, for my 60 seconds of glory in my own personal legend.
